Walk along the mountain stream and look at the possibilities of canalized water. The footpath follows the recreational route “on the trail of the hydroelectricity”.
How to go:
Go to le Villard hamlet, in front of « Galerie Hydraulica », on the recreational trail that will take you alongside the pipe of the hiking trail: « l’eau sauvage, l’eau domestiquée » (wild water, controlled water).
To go up:
The way up is along the pipe that carries water from the Planay’s dam to a hydroelectric plant. At the junction (Ballandaz gorges), go on the left and join the forest track that goes down to the Villard. On this trail, you’ll go under the penstock that you followed on the way up. The trail will finally take you back to Villard (be careful when you cross the RD 915, the road to Pralognan).
