Presentation
Choose to ride on an electric bike for an effortless sightseeing tour through the Tarentaise Vanoise valleys. Along quiet, easygoing, waymarked trails, the most beautiful scenery and delights in our region will open up before your eyes.
A series of hamlets grace the slopes in the Champagny le Haut small valley, a long valley carved out by glaciers and listed as a National Heritage Site. Following the Doron, an easy itinerary, specially made for family outings, acquaints you with their architectural treasures typical of the region, providing outstanding views on countless waterfalls and glaciers along the way.
For the most athletic ones:
- Possibility to start from Champagny le Bas by taking the access road up to Champagny le Haut for about 4 km.
- Once through the hamlet Laisonnay, you can make your way into the heart of the Vanoise National Park, a marmots’ paradise! The itinerary follows a pastoral trail (waymarking's change, a few rather steep sections) to Glière with the dried lake and chapel, facing the Grande Casse glacier, and then, after a few twists and turn, on to the Chalet Grand Plan. Total distance from La Couaz dam: 21 km round-trip trail from the entrance to the valley (D+/ D-: 500 m).
The best :
The Champagny le Haut valley offers an exceptional natural setting with a unique heritage. In the hamlet of Le Bois, the Glacialis space dedicated to the knowledge of glaciers can be visited.
Mountain biking is a physical and sporting activity that can involve risks. Stay safe!
